Marie Christina Bader

CEDAR FALLS- Marie C. Bader, 105, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Dysart, died Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center.

She was born January 2, 1907, in Dysart, Iowa, daughter of Charles and Emma (Hotzel) Heckroth. She graduated from Dysart High School in 1925 and attended Iowa State Teachers College. Marie married Arthur Bader in Toledo, Iowa on January 1, 1941. He died September 9, 1987. She was an elementary teacher in rural schools, and in Clutier, LaPorte City, and Dysart for 42 years.

Survived by her son, William (Harriet) Bader of Cedar Falls; two step grandchildren, Julie (L. D.) Bean and Corry (Jenny) Van Der Meer; and three step great-grandchildren, M.J. Bean, and Jacob and Nicole Marie Van Der Meer.

Preceded in death by her husband; three brothers: Lee, Glen and Ralph Heckroth; and one sister, Ruth Doty.

Services: 11:00 am Thursday at Trinity Bible Church in Cedar Falls with burial in Dysart Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Service in Cedar Falls and also one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
