CEDAR FALLS - Hazel Irene Venenga was born March 21, 1914, in Bristow, Iowa, the daughter of Earl Logan and Lula Anne (Wendt) Graham. She graduated from Bristow High School in 1934. On December 25, 1942, she was united in marriage to Marvin H. Venenga in Bethany, Missouri. He died March 7, 2002. She and Marvin farmed in the Lincoln Township area until their retirement in the early 1980's.

Hazel is survived by her daughter, Marsha L. (Darrel) Flater of Cedar Falls; son, Claire Marvin "Bud" Venenga of Stout, two grandchildren, Ryan Flater of Cedar Falls and Kurt (Wendy) Venenga of Washington; four great-grandchildren, Zachary and Jerret Flater of Cedar Falls and Andrew and Anna Venenga of Washington; brother, Henry "Berdean" Graham of Cedar Falls; sister, Fern Catchpool of Cedar Falls and sister-in-law, Beth Pecenka of Hudson.

She died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at the Cedar Falls Healthcare Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Earl Graham and sister, Alma Wesemann.
