Services for Bernard J. Bogardus, 75, of 822 W. Third St., will be 1 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

A Scripture service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Oppold Funeral Home, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Bogardus died Friday morning at Allen Memorial Hospital of heart failure.

He was born Dec. 4, 1907, at Eldora, son of Jacob A. and Stella Esther Henderson Bogardus. He married Rose Kathryn Roethler at Galena, Ill., April 27, 1935, and she died in October 1976. He worked at the John Deere Tractor Works for 38 years, retiring in 1973.

Survivors include two daughters from a previous marriage; a stepson, Harold Ries of 1524 Wiliston Ave.; a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
