John V. Hansen, 90, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.

He was born July 11, 1913 at Cedar Falls, Iowa the son of Nels & Viola (Soules) Hansen. He married Evelyn Lorenz May 3, 1942 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterloo, Iowa. John farmed all of his life and served on the Board of Directors of many organizations including the Aplington Sale Barn, the New Hartford School District, the Cedar Falls Co-op, and Butler-Grundy Farm service.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn, of Cedar Falls; three sons: Leonard (Darlys) Hansen and Thomas Hansen, both of New Hartford, Robert (Janet) Hansen of Milo, Iowa; one daughter, Mary (Dr. Jan) Schweitzer of Lansing, Iowa; nine grandchildren: Darin, Matthew, Ryan & John Hansen, Andrew Hansen; Dr. Michael (Kristie) Schweitzer, Heidi (Kelly) Hudson, Beth (Joel) Mosher, Suzanne (Greg) Ringelstetter, and Stephanie (Shawn) Montgomery; and two sisters, Mary Miller of Cedar Falls and Ann Corwin of Waverly.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2004, at St. John Lutheran Church, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls.
