CEDAR FALLS - Lena M. "Lee" Compton, 97, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the Cedar Falls Healthcare Center.

She was born December 22, 1914, in Toledo, Iowa, daughter of Hiram "Fred" and Eva V. (Smith) Chase. She married Martin J. Compton. He died January 11, 1972.

Mrs. Compton graduated from Toledo High School and attended Gates Business College. She was employed as an executive secretary with L. J. Sheridan Real Estate for ten years, retiring in 1985.

Survived by two nieces, Sharon (Lynn) Leitz of Cedar Falls, and Pamela Luhring of Toledo.

Preceded in death by a brother, Merle Chase; and a niece, Carol Butschy.

Services: 2:30 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Woodstock, Illinois. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where there will be a 7 p.m. public Order of Eastern Star service.
