Albert "Russ" Diggins, 59, of 700 W. Ridgeway Road. Lot 341, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 1990, at Allen Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

He was born Jan. 28, 1931, in Cedar Falls, son of Frank and Mae Gilliland Diggins. He married Frances Walters in the early 1950s in Waterloo. They were later divorced. He married Joan Ames on July 5, 1973, in Waterloo.

Mr. Diggins was employed as a boiler maintenance repair man in the power plant at the University of Northern Iowa for 14 years.

Survivors include his wife; five daughters: Dawn Diggins, Terri Davis. Jodi Diggins, Lynn Diggins and Chris Diggins, all of Waterloo; his parents of Carthage, Texas; 16 grandchildren; a brother, Francis of Rockaway Beach, Mo.; and two sisters, Myma Kramer of Bellevue, Neb., and Patricia Fuller of El Paso, Texas.

He was preceded in death by a son, Russell Allen.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Oppold-Hagarty Funeral Home with entombment in Mount Olivet Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour before services.

Memorials may be made to Cardiac Cath Lab, the Intensive Coronary Care Unit or the nursing staff at Allen Memorial Hospital.
