[Waterloo Evening Courier, Monday, May 28, 1917, Waterloo, Iowa]

Funeral services over the remains of Abraham Wild will be tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. at the family residence, 1105 Main Street. Rev George Knoche, a friend of many years, will be in charge of the services and the sermon will be preached by Rev. P. H. Hillegrand of Waverly by special request of Mr. Wild. Dr. J. E. Snowdan will also take part in the services. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Messrs. L. J. Pfeiffer, W. D. Nuhn, Harven Jewell, C. M. Wild, J. W. Wild and Joe Wild. The three last are cousins of Mrs. Abraham Wild.

Abraham Wild was born in Bledesbach, Germany, in 1842, and was married to Miss Katherine Wild in 1872, coming directly to America and settling in Cedar Falls. For a few years he was employed by the Bryant-Neely Lumber Co. and later organized the Wild Lumber Company business on East Fourth and State Streets. A couple of years ago he moved his business to South Main Street and enlarged his activities.

When stricken by paralysis nearly eight months ago he was still conducting this business, which this past winter has been sold to Waits & Best. Mr. Wild was an upright, industrious man, trusted and beloved by all who knew him.

Besides the widow, he is survived by four children, two daughters and two sons, all of whom were with him at the end. Miss Matilda Wild, a professional nurse, was summoned from her home in Havre, Mont., when her father was first stricken, as were also the sons, Howard and Harry, of Los Angeles, Cal. Miss Anna Wild, the other daughter is secretary at the Iowa State Teacher' college. Harry Wild returned last winter to Los Angeles, but came again to his father's bedside two weeks ago. The family is one of unusually strong affection for each other and this is the first break in the circle.
