Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church for Michael Nisas, 73, of 1237 Logan Avenue, who died yesterday at St. Francis Hospital of complications of a cerebral thrombosis.
The Rt. Rev. Msgr. L. W. Klassen, pastor, will officiate. There will be a Rosary at Oppold Funeral Home at 8 p.m. today and a Parish Rosary at 8 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
Mr. Nisas was born August 29, 1888, at Zegar, Bosna, Yugoslavia, the son of Andrew and Anna Nisas. He married Maria Bujanovic there November 25, 1909.
He came to this country in 1912 and the couple moved to Waterloo in 1929. Mr. Nisas was employed by the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works from 1930 to 1944. From 1944 until his retirement in 1957 he operated Mike's Market at 808 E. 4th Street.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society.
Survivors include his wife, one son, Matt, 190 River Forrest Road, Evansdale; four daughters: Mrs. Paul Will, Waverly; Mrs. W. J. Cunningham, 410 Wheeler Drive; Mrs. H. J. Lucas, La Canada, California, and Ann Marie Nisas, Minneapolis, Minnesota; one sister, Zorka Jelic, Yugoslavia, and six grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents, one brother, and one daughter in infancy.
