Services for Joan L. Peterson, 58. of DeKalb, Ill., and formerly of Waterloo, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb. A prayer service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Parrott & Wood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Miss Peterson died Friday morning at DeKalb.

She was born June 28,1925. in Waterloo, daughter of Irvine and Louise Eidem Peterson. She graduated from West High School in 1943, Rockford College in Rockford, Ill., in 1947, and received a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska'in 1976. She had been teaching at the University of Northern Illinois at DeKalb.

Survivors are a brother, John of 101 Windsor Drive; two stepbrothers, Douglas Trudo of Storm Lake and Richard Trudo of Philadelphia, Pa.; and her stepmother, Mrs. Astrid Peterson of 2026 W. Third St.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 8 a.m. until service time.
