Services for Melvern E. Wetherbee, 58, of 1303 Washington St., will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Folkers officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery under direction of Nottger Funeral Home. Mr. Wetherbee died Saturday at Allen Hospital.

He was born March 17, 1911 at West Union, son of Colonel and Retta Mae Shafer Wetherbee. He married Enid Porter in Cedar Falls in 1952. She died in 1968.

Survivors include three brothers: Arnold of Spanaway, Wash., Luvern of 318 W. 10th St., Lawrence of 431 Conger, Waterloo; four sisters: Mrs. Cecil Gage of Yakima, Wash., Mrs. C. Q. (Viva) Grunder of Chula Vista, Calif., Mrs. E. E. (Catherine) Whetstone of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Albert (Darlene) Altabet of Redondo Beach. Calif., and his mother of 431 Conger, Waterloo.

He was a self-employed carpenter.
