LA PORTE CITY - Services for Henry A. Dehrkoop, 80, who died Tuesday at a Waterloo Hospital, will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at the American Lutheran Church with burial in the Dysart Cemetery. Johannsen-Rossow Funeral Home in charge.

Survivors are his widow, Lizzie, three daughters: Miss Iola Dehrkoop, Wilmette, Illinois, Mrs. James Williams of Parkersburg and Mrs. Arlie Luxon of Waterloo; a sister, Mrs Lena Nath of Riceville; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Henry A. Dehrkoop were held Friday, August 22, 1969, at 1:30 p.m. at the American Lutheran church, La Porte City, with the Rev. John H Jacklin officiating. Burial was in Dysart Cemetery. His death occurred at Schoitz Memorial hospital in Waterloo following a stroke and a period of illness.

Henry A. Dehrkoop, son of Andrew and Theresa Glorfeld Dehrkoop, was born April 12, 1889, at Everly, IA. Following the death of his mother, he made his home with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Dehrkoop of Everly.

At the age of 14 he moved to his father's home in Dysart. His education was received in the elementary and high schools of the Everly and Dysart communities. He was baptised and confirmed in the Dysart Lutheran church. On September 19, 1911, he was united in marriage to Lizzie Luze in Brookings County, S. D. They farmed in this area until October, 1916, when they moved to the Dysart community. They resided in the Dysart community until 1944 when they moved to their farm home near La Porte City. There they lived until their retirement to La Porte City in 1960.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mrs. Fred (Mary) Luze, and his son Marvin, who died in 1961. Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Miss Iola Dehrkoop of Wilmette, Ill.; Mrs. James (Maye) Williams, Parkersburg, Ia.; Mrs. Arlie (Irene) Luxon, of Waterloo; and his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Marvin (Pauline) Dehrkoop, Waterloo.

He is also survived by 11 grand children, seven great grandchildren, and his sister, Mrs. John (Lena) Nath, Riceville, Ia. Relatives and friends attending the services were from White, Brookings and Sioux Falls, S.D.; Laurens, LeMars, Riceville, Miles, Letts, Armes, Marshall Town, Traer, Garrison, Keystone, Vinton, Ft. Dodge and Des Moines, Ia.; and Wilmette, Ill.
