WATERLOO — Elmer LaVerne Seemann, 69, of Montezuma, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, April 5, 2013, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center, Grinnell.

He was born Oct. 23, 1943, in Waterloo, son of Walter and Violet Seemann. He married Pam Stedman on Nov. 7, 1980, in Waterloo.

He graduated from East High in 1962, and then began working at John Deere, retiring in 1992 after 30 years of service. Mr. Seemann lived on an acreage in Dewar where he enjoyed raising cattle.

Survived by his wife; a daughter, Staci (Paul) Campbell of Blue Grass; a son, Scott (Shelly) Schmidt of Carlisle; two brothers, Roger (Elaine) of Waterloo and Lloyd (Mary) of Lake City, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Ryan, Scott Jr. and Samuel.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, Waterloo, with burial in Garden of Memories. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the chapel.

Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
