ALT, GUNDACKER, SCHOEBERT

Services will be at 10 a.m Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church for Ludwig A. Alt, 65, of 239 Idaho St., who died at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Francis Hospital of complications resulting from an accident last Tuesday.

Mr. Alt suffered a crushed chest and fractured ribs whe a tree limb fell on him while he was cutting down trees in Hope Martin Park. He had been employed by the Waterloo Park Commission for 18 years.

The Rev. Clement J. Burk associate pastor of St. Mary's Church, will officiate at the services. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Becker-Chapman Post 138 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at O'Keefe and Towne Funeral Home after noon Tuesday. There will be a parish rosary at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Alt was born Dec. 6, 1905 at Alta Vista, the son of Adolph and Eva Gundacker Alt and worked for the City of Cresco before coming to Waterloo in 1951.

He married Evelyn Schoeberl at Cresco on Oct. 14, 1940. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Survivors include two sons, Carl Alt of 3441 Cedar Terrace Dr., and Steven Alt of 239 Idaho St. Also surviving are his father of Alta Vista and two brothers, August Alt of Iowa Falls and Herman Alt of Alta Vista.

He was preceded in death by his mother, wife, and one brother.
