CEDAR FALLS — Les D. "Cork" Johnson, 67, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2000. at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, of natural causes.

He was bom Feb. 20, 1932, on a ranch in Dunning, Neb., son of Lester Henry and Esther Loy Miller Johnson. He married Lugene "Lu" J. Wick on Oct. 8, 1960, in Albert Lea, Minn.

Mr. Johnson was a veteran of the Korean War. He had been employed at Chamberlain Manufacturing Co., then was employed at Black Hawk Engineering as an inspector in quality control, retiring 1996.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Troy and Trent, both of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Rhonda Peck of Dayton, Ohio; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two sisters, Jean Christen of Broken Bow, Neb., and Betty Dingman of Portland, Ore.

Preceded in death by a brother, Melvin "Bud."

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at St. John American Lutheran Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, with family present from 2 to 4 p.m. Visitation also for an hour before services Monday at the church.
