EVANSDALE — Sybil Mae “Sally” Gilfillan, 94, of Evansdale, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

She was born May 2, 1918, in Waterloo, daughter of John and Grace Musgrove McCombs. She married Roy Gilfillan Jr. He died in 1986.

Mrs. Gilfillan attended school in Waterloo. She worked as a waitress at the Waterloo airport for many years and also managed restaurants in the area.

Survived by a son-in-law, Bill Axline of Evansdale; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Gilfillan of Waterloo; a close family friend, Janie Adams of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Jerry Gilfillan; a daughter, June Axline; two grandchildren, Brian Hickman and Frank Gilfillan; two sisters, Irene Klein and Juanita Wagner; and a brother, Lee McCombs.

Services and burial: will be at a later date. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo, is in charge of arrangements.
