WATERLOO - Marilyn M. Den Hartog, 76, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home of emphysema.

She was born Sept. 3, 1924, in Waterloo, daughter of Heber W. and Cecelia K. Berend Brown. She married Tunis Den Hartog on Oct. 21, 1943, in Waterloo. Mrs. Den Hartog was president of the Cedar Bend Humane Society for 19 years.

Survived by her husband; two daughters, Susan Bazzano of Fulton, Calif., and Diane Hinders of Marion; two sons, Bill of Jacksonville, Fla., and Tom of Cedar Falls; and 10 grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a brother; and a grandson.

Memorial services: 11:30 a.m. today at St. Edward's Catholic Church, with inurnment in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway is in charge of arrangements.
