WATERLOO — Jay Dee “Shorty” Tucker, 63, of Waterloo, died at home Wednesday, March 27, 2013.

He was born Nov. 13, 1949, in Waterloo, son of Howard and Nancy Ahlberg Tucker. He married Connie Wellner in October 1975 in Nashua, and they later divorced.

Mr. Tucker was a U.S. Marines Corps veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survived by a son, Jeremy of Waterloo; a daughter, Jeanne Tucker-Kelley; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Leonard of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Jalynn Tucker; and a brother, Jerry.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, preceded by an hour of visitation. Full military rites will be conducted by the Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31, assisted by the U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guard.
