WATERLOO — Charlotte Juanita Gettle Verbraken, 80, of Waterloo, died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at New Aldaya Lifescapes, Cedar Falls.

She was born April 17, 1932, in Marshalltown, daughter of Ralph and Eva Haynes Gettle. She married Duane Lee Verbraken on Oct. 1, 1949, at St. Edward Catholic Church, Waterloo.

Mrs. Verbraken was a homemaker.

Survived by her husband of Waterloo; four sons: Michael “Mike” (Sheila) and Paul, both of Phoenix, Donald “Don” (Jodi) of Waterloo and Kevin (Barb) of Pinetop, Ariz; a daughter, Teresa (Ron) Crow of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty (Ralph) Rozevink of Waterloo and Geraldine (Pete) Zomolik of Toledo; and nine nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Verbraken; two brothers, Howard and Bill Gettle; and two nephews, David Gettle and Kenny Gettle.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Edward Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church.

Charlotte enjoyed camping, knitting, reading and being with her family.
