Casper J. Fessler, 79. of 402 Ankeny Street, vice president of Cutler Hardware Co., died at 4:15 p. m. Wednesday at his home of a heart ailment.

He was born Dec. 20, 1869, in Alpthal, Switzerland, the son of Rudolph and Josephine Fessler. He came to this country with his parents a year after his birth, settling in Waterloo.

Mr. Fessler started work for the Cutler Hardware Co. as a young boy, and eventually became vice president of the organization in February, 1934. He held that position at the time of his death. He was a member of the Waterloo Elks, No. 290, and the Travelers Protective Association of America.

Mr. Fessler never married. His only survivor is one sister, Mrs. Christine Campbell, also of 402 Ankeny Street.

He was preceded in death by a brother and his parents.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Casper J. Fessler, 79, who died Wednesday afternoon in his home at 402 Ankeny Street, will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. P. Martin, pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Waterloo Elks, No. 290, will participate in the services. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
