Rudolph Fessler father of R. A. Fessler of the firm of Fessler Demmel, Jewelers died this afternoon At 1 o'clock at his home, 403 Ankeny Street. He had been sick for the past two months with the ills of old age and his death was not unexpected, As he had lived in Waterloo for over 40 years, many friends will regret to hear of his passing.

Decedent was born In Switzerland, January 31, 1823, and was thus In his 89th year. He came to this country. settling first In Milwaukee. In 1870. he came to Dubuque and the year following to Waterloo, where he was a faithful employee of the Illinois Central for many years.

He survived by his aged wife and by his three, children, R. A. and C. J. Fessler of Waterloo and Mrs. James Campbell of Moberly, Mo., all of whom were at his bedside when the end came. There are also three grandchildren.

The arrangements for the funeral have not yet been completed.

The funeral of the late Rudolph Fessler, who died yesterday at his home on Ankeny Street, will be held Sunday morning at 8 o'clock in St.. Mary's church, of which he was a member. Father H. H. Forkenbrock will conduct the services and the burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
