Hubert J. "Scotty" Allison, 72, of 724 Williston Avenue, died of a stroke Tuesday at 10:35 a.m. at Schoitz Memorial Hospital.
He was born at Mattoon, Illinois, Feb. 25, 1887, a son of Francis and Sarah Wadell Allison, and resided in this vicinity for more than 50 years. He married Mary E. Smith Nov. 24, 1910, in Orange Township.
Mr. Allison was employed for 20 years prior to his retirement in 1955 by the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works. He was a member of the First Brethren Church.
Surviving are a son, Russell, of 1784 Enid Street, a sister Katherine Allison, 1843 Hawthorne Avenue, a brother Frank, Wadsworth, Illinois, and eight granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Services are tentatively set for 2 p.m. Thursday at First Brethren Church. Friends may call after noon Wednesday at the Locke Funeral Home.
