WATERLOO — Matthew N. Northey, 31, of Waterloo, died at home Friday, March 22, 2013, of a sudden heart attack.

He was born June 23, 1981, in Iowa City, son of Jeff and Vicky Lau Northey.

He graduated from East High School in 2000. Mr. Northey worked as a pipe insulator for Precision Services for more than 10 years.

Survived by his father, Jeff (Brenda) Northey of Waterloo; two sisters, Misty (Brian) Thompson of Evansdale and Andrea Northey of Waterloo; two stepbrothers, Chad (Tami) Adelmund of Waterloo and Eric (Jenny) Adelmund of Nevada; nephews and niece Sawyer, Travon, and Taliyah; grandparents Ed and Ann Northey of Waterloo; grandmother LaVonne Northey of Cedar Falls; special friend, Elaina Atchison of Denver; and beloved pet German Shorthair, Eve.

Preceded in death by his mother; and grandparents Bernice and Lyle Lau.

Memorial Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Westminster Presbyterian Church with inurnment in Hudson Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Locke Funeral Home.
