Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Parrott & Wood Funeral Home for Thomas Frank Rice, 72, of 1217 Magnolia Pkwy., who died about 2:30 p.m. Monday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital of carcinoma.

The Rev. Albert T. Ronk, pastor of First Brethren Church, will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mr. Rice was born March 17, 1887, near Dunkerton, the son of Elijah and Cora Whitney Rice. He was married in 1910 at Waterloo to Evelyn Wood, who preceded him in death in 1917.

He was employed by the John Deere Tractor Works until he retired about four years ago. He was a member of First Brethren Church.

Surviving are two sons, Burton Rice, 324 Summit Ave., and Harry Rice, of Dubuque; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Nelson, Minneapolis; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Rice, Cedar Rapids, and Elwyn Rice, 1320 South Street; and a sister, Mrs. Logan Brocksus, 1221 Magnolia Pkwy.
