Hubert "Hoots" Joseph Weis, 81, of Glenville, Minn, formerly of Waterloo, died at home Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006. He was bom July 18, 1924, in Burchard, Neb, son of Joseph and Helen Schultz Weis.

He married Patricia Knoettgen on July 20,1946, in Beatrice, Neb. Mr. Weis was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was employed at Northern Natural Gas for 37 years, retiring in 1983 at Waterloo.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Pam (Dennis) Bock of Piano, Texas; a daughter, Kate (Harold) Kalvig of Albert Lea, Minn.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a Hubert Weis brother, Jim of Andrews, Texas.

Preceded in death by two brothers, William and Joe.

Services: 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Chapel, with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery, both in Albert Lea. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and for an hour before services Thursday at the chapel. Military honors will be conducted by Freebom County Veterans' Organizations.
