HUDSON — George W. Glasener, 8O, of Hudson, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at Parkview Manor, Reinbeck, of natural causes due to progressive supranuclear palsy.

He was born Jan. 25, 1922, in Waterloo, son of George L. and Lucy Platt Glasener. He married Natalie V. Hagg on Sept. 24, 1949, in Stanton.

Mr. Glasener attended radio school in Kansas City, Mo., and was employed as a radio operator for United Airlines. During World War II he served as a radio operator/navigator for United Airlines flights under contract for the U.S. Army in Pacific operations.

For the past 52 years Mr. Glasener and his wife have farmed near Hudson. He also served as president and voting delegate in the Black Hawk County Farm Bureau, and was a Lincoln Township trustee.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Barbara Glasener of Waverly and Janelle Glasener-Koenigsfeld of Hudson; three grandchildren; a brother, R. Dale of Herbster, Wis.; and three sisters: Marge Stark of Charleston, Ill., Ann Hultman of Hudson and Alice Glasener of Herbster.

Preceded in death by a sister, Hattie Eslinger.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Reinbeck, with burial in Lincoln Township Cemetery, rural Hudson. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Action Post 242, Reinbeck. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Monday at Hand Funeral Home, Reinbeck, with the family present from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., and with a 7 p.m. Masonic service.

A memorial fund is being established.
