WATERLOO — Marci Ellen Hassell, 21, of Waterloo, died Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Allen Hospital from complications of juvenile Batten disease.

She was born March 14, 1991, in Honolulu, daughter of Mark and Jodi Reisem Hassell.

Survived by her father and stepmother, Mark and Vicky Hassell of Lake Hills, Texas; her mother and stepfather, Jodi and Jerry Holtzman of Evansdale; a half brother, Steven (Michelle) Mariette of North Carolina; two sisters, Jessica Grapp of Evansdale and Cathleen Hassell of Waterloo; maternal grandmother and stepgrandfather, Sylvia and Bob Walker of Elk Run Heights; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Gerald Reisem; and paternal grandparents, Eugene and Elizabeth Hassell.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, preceded by an hour of visitation, with inurnment at a later date in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
