LA PORTE CITY — Mildred M. Weisert, 92, of La Porte City, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at La Porte City Nursing & Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born June 10, 1920, in Black Hawk County, daughter of Reinart and Rosa Loeb Huck. She married Wayne Weisert on June 10, 1945, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jubilee. He died Dec. 6, 1993.

Mrs. Weisert worked in housekeeping at La Porte City Nursing and Rehab Center, formerly Colonial Manor, retiring after 20 years.

Survived by two sons, Larry (Charmain) of La Valle, Wis., and Rick (Carol) of La Porte City; a daughter, Judy (John) Engel of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a brother, Harold (Dorothy) Huck of La Porte City.

Preceded in death by an infant daughter, Elaine.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at American Lutheran Church, La Porte City, then luncheon followed by burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Jubilee. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at La Porte City Funeral Service and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family or American Lutheran Church.
