VERN F. FOSTER

Funeral services for Vern F. Foster, 51, of 242 Hogle St., who died at his home at 6:45 p. m. Tuesday of complications of a tumor on a lymph gland, will be conducted at 3:30 p. m. Saturday at the Chapel of Memories West. Brigadier Charles E. Graham of the Salvation Army will officiate.

Military rites will be conducted at the Garden of Memories. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Wednesday.

He was born April 11, 1915, at Shell Rock, the son of Raymond and Mae Maxam Foster. He had been a resident of Waterloo for 30 years and had worked for the Rath Packing Co. for the last 21 years.

He served in the Army during World War II. He was married on July 25, 1954, to Bernice Sanderson in Waterloo. He had been a Salvation Army and Veterans of Foreign Wars member.

Surviving are his widow and two daughters, Ramona and Lavere of 242 Hogle; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Foster, 409 La Porte Road; three brothers: Virgil, 605 Home Acres Ave., Evansdale; Clayton of Cedar Rapids; Frank B. of 436 Bratnober St.; three sisters: Mrs. Laura Allen of Omaha, Neb.; Mrs. Ila Dellinger, 415 La Porte Road; Mrs. Eva Sommerfelt of 1103 Sheffield Ave.

He was preceded in death by one brother, who lost his life in World War II.
