CEDAR FALLS - August O. Klemp, 83, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, March 27, 2006, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.

He was born Oct. 1, 1922, in Readlyn, son of Arthur and Elsie Sell Klemp. He married Ruth Carol Roberts on June 7, 1947, at the Little Brown Church near Nashua.

Mr. Klemp served with the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific theater during World War II, and was a building contractor in the metropolitan area for 30 years, retiring in 1978.

Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Marcellis (Phil) Albertson of Yucaipa, Calif., and Helen Pavelka of Des Moines; a brother, Robert (Mary) Klemp of Fredericksburg; a sister-in-law, Voral Roberts of Cedar Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law, Beverly Klemp; and three brothers-in-law, John and Bill Roberts, and Cletus Pavelka.

Memorial services: 2 p.m. Friday at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Chapel. Private committal services will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo, at a later date. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
