Elmer L. Pinney, 61, of 1215 Harman Ave., died of a heart condition at 3 p.m. Monday in Schoitz Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 3, 1906, at Elgin, the son of Elmer and Llydia Etter pinney and married Gladys Mae Burg at West Union August 22, 1930. He came to Waterloo from Elgin in 1958.

For the past 19 years he was an employee of the Rath Packing Co. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elgin and Local 46, United Packinghouse Workers of America.

Surviving Mr. Pinney besides his widow are three daughters: Mrs. Dale Ruroden of West Union, Mrs. Raymond Miller of 115 Riehl St., and Mrs. Charles Clemmensen of 2266 Byron Ave.; two sons, Duane, of Lincoln, Nebraska and Paul of Anamosa; 16 grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Minor Rorie, Rochester, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and parents.

Funeral services will be at the First Baptist Church, Elgin, at 2 p.m. Thursday and burial will be in the cemetery there. The body will be taken Wednesday from the Oppold Funeral Home to the Muelethaler Funeral Home at Elgin.

Friends may call Tuesday afternoon and evening at the funeral home here. A prayer service is planned for 8 p.m. Tueday with the Rev. Robert Hildebrandt presiding.
