CEDAR FALLS — Elva Engelken, 80, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at the Martin Center, Western Home Communities.

She was born May 16, 1932, in New Vienna, daughter of Henry and Rose Lammers Engelken.

She graduated from Iowa State Teachers College, and she was a teacher at Lincoln School in Cedar Falls her whole career.

Survived by: two sisters, Arlene Baker of Waterloo and Rita Engelken of Cedar Falls; and three brothers, Hugo (Catherine) Engelken of New Vienna, Daniel (Dee) Engelken of Seminole, Fla., and Martin (Joyce) Engelken of Orange Park, Fla.

Preceded in death by: a sister in infancy, Cyrilla Jane; and a brother-in-law, Edward Baker.

Memorial services: 11:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Waterloo, preceded by an hour of visitation, with inurnment in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to Western Home Communities, the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
