MRS. G. G. HAMMERSMITH.

Mrs. G. G. Hammersmith, 427 East Second Street, died at 5 p. m. Thursday in Presbyterian Hospital of carcinoma. She was 74.

She was born to Fred and Louisa Boeckman at Speigel, la., May 25, 1875, and married William D. Wenthe Nov. 26, 1891, at Speigel. He died in 1937. She married Ed Whitcomb at Waverly, la.. Oct. 15, 1938, and he died in Waterloo in 1941. She married Grant Hammersmith at Waverly. la., Dec. 18. 1948. She had resided in Waterloo since 1912.

She was a member of the Fist Lutheran church and also belonged to the Lutheran Women's Missionary Society.

Surviving are eight daughters, Mrs. Charles Erode, Las Vegas, Nev., Mrs. Fred Heiser, 660 West llth street, Mrs. Harry Dinzy, 403 West 12th street Mrs. Paul Tonn. Independence. la., Mrs. Adella Hash, Long Beach, Cal., Mrs. La Vera Cook and Mrs. John Carmen, both of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Homer Hall, 1224 Knoll avenue, and one son, William Wenthe, 527 Webster street Her husband, 32 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren survive, as do a sister, Mrs. August Platte, Sumner, la., and a brother, Fred Boeckman, Sutton, N. Oak.

The body is at the-Parrott & Wood funeral home. Funeral services will be in First Lutheran Church at 2 p. m. Monday with Rev. S. M. Becker in charge. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
