Funeral Services for Lester M. Schellhorn to be Held March 6

Funeral services for Lester M. Schellhorn, 69, of 118 Rebecca Road, will be held Saturday, March 6, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waterloo.

Mr. Schellhorn passed away Friday, February 26, 1999, at Henry Mayo Memorial Hospital in Valencia, California.

He was born November 25, 1926 in Waverly, the son of Henry and Ida Pries Schellhorn. He married Dorothy Even on July 3, 1954 in Waterloo.

Mr. Schellhorn was employed with Deere and Company for 30 years as a mechanic in the Product Engineering Center, retiring in May of 1992.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one son, Scot, of Gays Mills, Wisconsin; three daughters: Sylvia Anderson of Lake Oswego, Oregon, Lynn Schutte of Cambridge, Minnesota, and Peggy Sileo of Boscabel, Wisconsin; six grandchildren and one sister, Leona Eick of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by a son, Mark, on September 30, 1995, and a brother, Arnold Schellhorn.

Visitation will be all day Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Home on West Ridgeway, with burial in Mr. Olivet Cemetery. There will be a 4 p.m. Rosary and a 7 p.m. Vigil. The family will be present from 2-8 p.m. Friday. Memorials will be established at a later date.
