Mrs. Jean Mitchell Cardy died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. W. Slocum, 314 Mullan Avenue East, at 8 a.m. today. She had been ill since Thanksgiving Day.

Decedent was born August 2, 1834. She had resided in Waterloo since 1871.

Surviving are five children: Mrs. L. W. Slocum and Myrtle Cardy, Waterloo; Mrs. E. L. Curtiss, Santa Barbara, California; Mrs. Jennie Lee, Marshalltown; Robert, Marceline, Missouri; also one sister, Mrs. Catherine Berryhill, Marion, Iowa.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Mitchell Cardy will be at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. W. Slocum, 314 Mullan Avenue East, at 2 p.m. Saturday. Rev. J. R. Macartney will be in charge and burial will be in Fairview. Those from out of the city to attend the services are the son and family, Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Cardy, and daughter, Marceline, Missouri; daughter, Mrs. Jennie Lee, Marshalltown, and sister, Mrs. Kate Berryhill, Marion.
