WATERLOO — Thomas D. Ferrie, 61, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Allen Hospital.

He was born June 15, 1951, in Waterloo, son of Lester and Eleanor Van Dan Acker Ferrie.

Mr. Ferrie was employed as a barber in Iowa City. He also was employed as a bartender and cook in Kirksville, Mo.

Survived by a daughter, Christi (Chandon) Hager of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Bree (Johnny Goodwin) Hager, Jordan Hager, Colton Hager and Chandon Jr. Hager; a brother, Robert (Susan) Ferrie of Plainfield; two sisters, Eileen (Gene) Dvorak of Waterloo and Donna (Bill) Landis; and special friend, Colleen Sonksen of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gary Ferrie; and a sister, Lois Walitshek.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with visitation an hour before services at the funeral home.
