CEDAR FALLS - Nadine Faye Payton, 55, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

She was born Oct. 18, 1957, in Ames, daughter of Hans and Opal Anderson Walther. She married Michael Payton on July 5, 1986, at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, and they later divorced.

Ms. Payton graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1976 and had worked as a kitchen helper at Maid Rite, The Other Place and Hy-Vee.

Survived by her mother of Cedar Falls; three sisters: Mary (Ron) Heinzman of Milan, Ill., and Nancy (Dan) Dreyer and Diane (Mike) Heindl, both of Cedar Falls; and five nephews and three nieces: Katie (Nick) Kester, Marc Heinzman, Bethany (Mark) Shepard, Jordon (Jenny) Dreyer, Noah Dreyer, Jacob Dreyer and Honor and Luke Heindl.

Preceded in death by her father.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
