Richard H. Dittmer, 48, of rural Waterloo, died Thursday, Oct. 18, at Covenant Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born Feb. 27, 1953, son of Alban V. and Florence G. Schares Dittmer.

He graduated from Jesup Community High School in 1972 and attended Hawkeye Institute of Technology. Mr. Dittmer was employed at Warren Computer Center as a computer technician.

Survived by his parents of rural Waterloo; two brothers, William of Elk Run Heights and Joseph of Utica, Mich.; and two sisters, Gloria Mielke of Eldora and Wanda Dittmer of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by an infant sister, Joyce Dittmer.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Raymond, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a 7:30 p.m. vigil service.
