WATERLOO — Jack Frederick Robinson, 74, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.
He was born Oct. 29, 1938, in Stewartville, Minn., son of Franklin P. and Josephine E. Van Natta Robinson. He married Barbara J. Good on Jan. 18, 1964, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Waterloo.
Mr. Robinson graduated from Dunkerton High School in 1957 and served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves for eight years from 1957 to 1963. He was employed with John Deere for 34 ½ years, retiring in 1993. Jack was a member of the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 and also Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survived by his wife; two daughters, Gina (Darryn) Abben of Waterloo and Lora (Troy) Sullivan of Honolulu; a brother, Perry (Diana) of Dunkerton; a sister, Sharon Nehl of Dunkerton; six grandchildren, Robert (Stacy) Abben and Michelle (Alex) Weepie, both of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Anthony, Charles, Josephine and Barbara Sullivan, all of Honolulu; and a great-grandchild, Liam.
Preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Robert Nehl; and a nephew, Shane Nehl.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
Jack loved to fish at their cabin at Lake Delhi, which they later sold. He also loved sports, music, travel and visiting with family and friends.
