Ellis A. "Lanky" Ostrander, 67, of Evansdale, died Monday, April 17, 2000 at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born Sept. 25, 1932, in rural Fayette County, the son of Jesse and Margaret Wroe Ostrander. He married Lucille Marie McGill Jan. 21, 1956, in Cedar Falls.

Mr. Ostrander was a roofer and masonry worker for many years in the Waterloo and California areas.

Survived by his wife of Bakersfield, Calif.; a son, Terry of Bakersfield; three daughters, Cindy Ostrander of Waterloo, and Cynthia Miller and Wendy Ostrander, both of Bakersfield; 10 grandchildren; and a brother, Bobby of Sacramento.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Jim.

Services: 3 p.m. Monday at the Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with burial in Poyner Township Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
