E. J. Isley Dies
at Cedar Falls

CEDAR FALLS—Edward J. Isley, 88, long time building contractor in Cedar Falls, died at 12:35 a. m. Monday at his home 1210˝ Clay Street, following a long period of failing health.

He was born June 1, 1866, the son of James and Alice Isley at Lamont, where he grew to manhood.

He married Rosa L. Hoyt Sept. 1, 1892, at Andrew. They came to Cedar Falls in 1911. Mrs. Isley died here in 1931. In 1933 Mr. Isley married Ella B. Meyer.

He was one of the leading contractors here for many years and built a total of 98 houses in Cedar Falls before he retired about 10 years ago. He was known as a fine craftsman and did considerable cabinet work following his retirement from contracting. He was am member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors besides his wife include two daughters and a son by the first marriage. They are: Mrs. R. J. Anderson, 114 E. 20th; Mrs. C. H. Rickert of Springfield, Illinois; and Carleton H. Isley, Birmingham, Michigan. There are also two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at the Dahl Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday, conducted by Dr. W. W. Bowers. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
