Dr. Lloyd L. Boxwell, 86, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, January 31, 2004, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.

He was born June 11, 1917, in Martelle, Iowa, the son of William H. and Loretta (Eldred) Boxwell. Lloyd married Margaret Slater on May 11, 1941, in Ames, Iowa. She preceded him in death on October 17, 1992.

He was a graduate of Iowa State University and was a veterinarian in Cedar Falls, Iowa for 40 years, retiring in 1982. Lloyd was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Cedar Falls Lions Club.

Lloyd died Saturday, January 31, 2004, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, at 86 years of age.
He is survived by his son, Donald (Alice) Boxwell of Gilroy, California; two daughters, Roberta (Terry) Witkin of Mesa, Arizona and Sandra K. Bagnall of Harlow, Essex, England; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and his close friend, Mildred Banks, of Cedar Falls.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife and parents; two brothers, Willard and Lolen Boxwell; and a sister, Carmen Palmer.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 7, at First Presbyterian Church, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or the church.
