Margaret J. Chritensen, was born March 12, 1916 in Parkersburg, Iowa, the daughter of Frank E. and Mabel (Wilson) Reints.

She and her husband Virgil Christensen were united in marriage in Parkersburg. Margaret worked at Chamberlain Manufacturing for 4 years and worked at an aircraft assembly plant in Long Beach, California during WW II. She also worked at the Waterloo Country Club for several years and she and her husband Virgil farmed in Butler County, Iowa for close to 50 years. Margaret was a Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star and was a former officer with the New Hartford Rebekah Lodge. Margaret was also a longtime member of New Hartford United Methodist Church and the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.

She died Sunday, January 11, 2004, at Windsor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Cedar Falls, at 87 years of age.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Virgil, of New Hartford; two sons, David J. (Laurie) Christensen of Bloomington, Illinois and Steve R. (Lonna) Christensen of New Hartford; three grandchildren, Dustin John, Sarah & Matthew Christensen; a brother, Benny (Evelyn) Reints of Parkersburg and a sister, Doris (Wilbur) Peterson of Grundy Center, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, John, Vernon “Butch” & Don Reints, and a sister, Marie Stopplemoor.

Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2004, at the New Hartford United Methodist Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens in Cedar Falls.
