Mrs. Bertha Bell Adams died at 7:20 a.m. Thursday, her sixty-seventh birthday, in her at 709 Kern Street. Death, following a six-month illness, was attributed to old age and complications.

Born November 12, 1869 in Clinton County, Iowa, she was a daughter of Charles and Anna Lanphear. She married Robert E Adams at Monmouth, Iowa July 3, 1894. They moved to Waterloo about 35 years ago. Mr. Adams died here in April 24, 1935.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Benjamin Pressnall, 311 Norwood Avenue; three sisters: Mrs. Jenny Gruver and Miss Ida L Lanphear, with whom she lived, and Mrs. Hattie Johnson, Cedar Rapids.

Tentative funeral arrangements call for a service at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Free Methodist Church, of which she was a member, with Rev. Mark H. Shockey, pastor, in charge. The body will remain at the Parrott & Wood Funeral Home until Saturday noon, when it will be taken to the church to lie in state. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
