CEDAR FALLS — Rollin Knapp, 65, of Waterloo, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

He was born March 24, 1947, in Waterloo, son of Kenneth and Oda Mikkelsen Knapp.

Mr. Knapp was a 1965 graduate of Cedar Falls High School and attended the University of Northern Iowa. He was an accomplished local artist whose works are in the Waterloo Center for the Arts, the Hearst Center for the Arts in Cedar Falls and private collections. His work was the subject of several video productions and featured in the Iowan magazine.

Survived by a brother, Gene (Debbie) of Keokuk; two nieces, Ashley (Travis) Brandenberger-Knapp and Alexis Knapp, both of Keokuk; many cousins, including Terry (Colleen) Knapp of Las Vegas, Kyle Knapp of Santa Monica, Calif., and David Knapp of Cedar Falls; his stepmother, Gloria Freilinger of Viroqua, Wis.; two stepsisters, Lorain Hanson of Sparta, Wis., and Linda (Joe) Christiano of Wichita, Kan.; two stepbrothers, George (Deanna) Hanson of Andover, Kan., and Howard (Karen) Hanson of Tillamook, Ore.; and his close friend, Beverly Hyke, of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Gathering of family and friends: 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Cedar Falls Woman’s Club, with private inurnment in Mount Vernon Township Cemetery, rural Waterloo. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial in lieu of flowers: may be directed to the Waterloo Center for the Arts.
