Joseph Cohen, 57, of 2910 W. 4th St., died of a heart attack Friday at 4 a. m. at Kansas City, Mo., where he had gone on a business trip.

He was born Dec. 27, 1896*, in Russia, and came to the United States in 1909, settling in Minneapolis, Minn, where he married Sue Garber Jan. 28, 1923.

Mr. Cohen was a World War I veteran, a member of Becker Chapman Post, American Legion as well at Congregation of the Sons of Jacob and B'nai B'rith.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Theodore, and one grandson at Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Irving Weinberg of Minneapolis, and a brother, Herman, Chicago.

He was preceded in death by parents, one daughter, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Sons of Jacob Synagogue with Rabbi Harry Cohen officiating. Burial will be in the Jewish cemetery. The body will arrive at the Parrott & Wood Funeral Home early Sunday morning.
