DUNKERTON, IOWA — Mae La Von Miller, 93, of Dunkerton, died Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Mercy Living Plus, Oelwein, of natural causes.

She was born May 28, 1919, on the family farm in Butler County near Dumont, daughter of Ernest O. and Emma Lind Griner. She married Paul Miller on Nov. 28, 1940. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Miller graduated from high school and attended college for a year. She and her husband owned and operated Paul’s Drive Inn, Dunkerton, for 25 years.

Survived by a daughter, Caroline (Norman) Clubine of Dunkerton; a son, Jim (Linda) of Fairbank; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, E.J. Griner of Rush City, Minn.

Preceded in death by a brother, Wilfred (Fleta) Griner; a sister, Elvera (George) Henning; and a sister-in-law, Miriam Griner.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Dunkerton. Visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Woods Funeral Home, Fairbank, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
