BIG CREEK VETERAN DIES OF OLD AGE

La Porte. la.. June 3.—George Henry Fry. an aged civil war veteran and a pioneer resident of this vicinity, died at the home of his son, A. Z. Fry. in this city on Tuesday afternoon. Decreased bad been in feeble health for some time and his death was due to the natural causes incident to old age.

Mr. Fry was born in Wisbourgh, Germany. January 7, 1826. He came to America with his parents when but three years of age. The family settled In Attica, N. Y. where they lived for fourteen years when they removed to Washington County, Wis.

In 1874 he was married to Minerva J. Fuller. To this union six children were born, all of whom are living. The children are: George H., living in Missouri; Mrs. O. Tennant, of Amboy. Ill; Amos A., of Dysart; Alonzo Z. of La Porte City; Perry R. of Vinton. Besides the six children he leaves seventeen, grandchildren and ten great-grand-children.

His wife died on March 1898. For the last 25 years deceased has made his home with his son, Alonzo. He has been a resident of this vicinity since 1867.
