[Waterloo Daily Courier January 25, 1895]

Attorney J. T. Sullivan returned this morning from Springfield, Illinois, where he went on business connected with the re-trial of the case of Myers vs. A., T. & St. P. R'y. It will be remembered that, two years ago, the plaintiff William Myers, who is a son of Henry Myers, of this city, recovered $8,500 from the Atchison, Topeka & St. Fe R'y for the loss of an arm while switching in the yards of that company at Streator, Illinois. The case was tried in the U.S. circuit court, and later the U. S. Court of Appeals set aside the verdict on the ground of error in the instructions given by the judge. The case will again be tried at Springfield, beginning Wednesday, Jan. 30. Burns & Sullivan have charge of the case for the plaintiff and Mr. Sullivan will return to Springfield next Monday night. It is an important case and Mr. Sullivan is confident of securing a final verdict.
