CEDAR FALLS — Eleanor Joy Augustus, 95, of Spring Valley, Minn., formerly of Cedar Falls, died at home Monday, Jan. 28, 2013.

She was born Dec. 12, 1917, in Greenleaf, Kan., to Forrest W. and Winnifred Lupher Thorman. She married Melvin F. Augustus in August 1937. He preceded her in death.

She graduated from Greenleaf High School in 1935.

Survived by a daughter, Carol (Orlan) Shaw of Spring Valley; two sons, Wayne (Linda) of Pelican Rapids, Minn., and Farrel of Watford City, N.D.; a sister, Dorothy Vathauer of Blue Rapids, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Richard; a brother, Richard Thorman; a great-grandson; and a great-granddaughter.

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at Hindt Funeral Home, Spring Valley. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
