Gladys Marie Koenigsfeld, 81, formerly of Waterloo, died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at the Sunrise Home, Traer, Iowa.

She was born December 13, 1925 in Cresco daughter of Jacob and Catherine Henry Steffen. She married Lloyd Koenigsfeld on June 16, 1951 in Cresco. He died November 16 1986.

Gladys worked in the bacon department at Rath Meat Packing plant for 40 years retiring in 1984.

Survivors include one son, Tom (Nancy) Koenigsfeld; and one daughter, Mary (Todd) Paine of Waterloo; five grandchildren: T.J., Jerry, and Lindsey Koenigsfeld, and Cody & Casey Paine; two brothers, Clarence (Evelyn) Steffen and Jerry (Elaine) Steffen both of Cresco; one sister-in-law Marian Steffen, also of Cresco; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Bill Steffen.

Services will be at 10:30 am Wednesday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with burial at 2:30 p.m. in Calvary Cemetery Cresco Iowa. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 pm Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street where there will be a 4:00 pm rosary and a 7:00 pm vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the family. Following graveside services at the cemetery the family will be gathering at Notre Dame Parish Church Hall in Cresco for fellowship.
